Students donate ₦10.7m for Tinubu’s 2027 interest form

In a striking display of support, beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) in Anambra State have not only endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term but have also pooled resources to purchase his expression of interest form, contributing N10.7 million. This act, highlighted by The Punch, is framed as a direct response to the perceived positive impact of the NELFUND scheme on access to higher education and the alleviation of financial burdens for Nigerian students. The students, through their representatives, articulated this as a collective expression of gratitude for the President's "bold educational reforms and youth-oriented policies."

We, the beneficiaries of NELFUND scheme, are collectively endorsing President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office. This is in recognition of the transformative impact of the NELFUND’s access to higher education and the alleviation of financial burdens for Nigerian students.

The presentation at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam campus, saw the Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Council in Anambra State, Ifeanyichukwu Chukwuemeka, leading the endorsement. This initiative positions the NELFUND beneficiaries as a significant bloc of support for the Tinubu administration, emphasizing the tangible benefits of its programs. The students also extended their appreciation to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for his support of students and educational advancements within the state, indicating a broader alignment of political interests.

We are also donating the sum of ₦10,735,500 to support the purchase of the expression of interest form for him. This gesture is a symbolic expression of gratitude for the President’s bold educational reforms, youth-oriented policies, and commitment to expanding access to tertiary education opportunities across the nation.

Furthermore, the event acknowledged the contributions of businessman Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana) and other local stakeholders in youth mobilization and empowerment. From the perspective of these students and their supporters, this collective action signifies more than just a political endorsement; it represents a tangible investment in a policy they believe has directly benefited them.
