Sūduva Poses Serious Challenge to Polish Giant Jagiellonia

Lithuanian club FK Sūduva presented a formidable challenge to Polish powerhouse Jagiellonia Białystok, securing a 1-1 draw in a friendly match. The game highlighted Sūduva's resilience and ability to compete against a team with a higher pedigree, despite recent schedule disruptions.

Jagiellonia, who played a league match the previous day, fielded a lineup that included players who had featured as substitutes in that game. The Polish side managed to break the deadlock just before halftime when Danish player Anders Klynge scored in the 45th minute. Both teams had created several chances in the first half, with Sūduva's Ignas Plūkas making a crucial save for the hosts.

Following the break, Sūduva made extensive changes, substituting eight players at halftime and the remaining three later in the second half. This strategic overhaul paid off in the 80th minute when Titas Milašius found the back of the net, equalizing for Sūduva after a pass from the right flank.

This friendly provided valuable match practice for Sūduva during a nearly three-week break in their official schedule. Their last competitive fixture was on July 20th, and their next league game is not until August 9th. Several league matches were postponed due to other clubs' participation in UEFA competitions.
