Summer Weather in Romania: Temperatures Up to 32 Degrees and Isolated Showers in Mountain Areas

Romania is set for a warm spell, with temperatures expected to climb as high as 32 degrees Celsius in western and southwestern parts of the country, particularly in Banat and Crișana. The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) forecasts that Friday, June 19, will see warmer weather across most regions, with thermal values slightly exceeding the usual averages for this period.

While Banat and Crișana will experience the highest temperatures, reaching up to 32 degrees Celsius locally, other areas like Oltenia and Muntenia will also be warm. In contrast, the Black Sea coast will remain cooler, with temperatures hovering around 24 degrees Celsius. The sky will be partly cloudy, but increased cloudiness is anticipated in the afternoon and evening over mountainous areas, especially in the Eastern Carpathians, and in northern Moldova.

These mountainous and northern Moldovan regions may see light, scattered showers, generally between 5–10 liters per square meter, with isolated amounts up to 15 liters per square meter. These will be accompanied by lightning. Winds will be light to moderate, with temporary gusts reaching 40–50 km/h during rainfall.

In the capital, Bucharest, the weather is expected to remain pleasant and warm, with partly cloudy skies and light to moderate winds. Maximum temperatures will range from 28–30 degrees Celsius, dropping to 14–17 degrees Celsius overnight. Mountainous areas will start sunny but may experience short-lived rain showers and electrical phenomena by evening, particularly in the Eastern Carpathians. The coast will enjoy sunny weather with pleasant breezes and temperatures up to 27 degrees Celsius, while the sea temperature will be around 18 degrees Celsius.
