Sunday Igboho vows to rid Kwara forests of bandits

Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has launched a new security initiative, the "Iru Ekun Security Network," aimed at reclaiming forests in Kwara State from bandits. Igboho declared that criminal elements would no longer be permitted to exploit the state's forests for illicit activities.

The network was inaugurated in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. Igboho clarified that the outfit is intended to support the government and conventional security agencies in their fight against kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes plaguing affected communities. He dismissed rumors suggesting opposition from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, expressing confidence that the governor shares residents' concerns about the escalating security situation.

Igboho announced that the Iru Ekun Security Network's operatives will commence security operations in Babanla and Eruku, communities he identified as severely impacted by insecurity and described as bandit strongholds. He asserted that the presence of his network has already unsettled criminals and vowed that they would not abandon their ancestral land to those hiding in the forests. The activist reiterated that the security outfit is not meant to replace existing security forces but to enhance ongoing efforts to restore peace across Kwara State.
