Suspect Dies After Industrial Waste Company Robbery Attempt in Coyoacán; Accomplice Arrested

An attempted robbery at an industrial waste company in Coyoacán, Mexico City, ended tragically with one suspect dead and another in custody. The incident unfolded on San Pascasio street when two individuals reportedly entered the establishment. They allegedly threatened employees with a replica firearm, demanding cash from the register.

According to the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), a 26-year-old employee, believing his life and those of his colleagues were in danger, used a firearm from the counter to repel the attackers. One of the alleged assailants was shot in the leg. He and his accomplice attempted to flee, but the injured suspect collapsed nearby and was later pronounced dead by paramedics.

The second suspect was detained by SSC officers, who also seized the replica firearm. Both the arrested suspect and the employee who fired the weapon were taken to the ministerial authority to provide statements and determine responsibility in the case.
