The Southwest Agenda for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (SWAGA) has officially kicked off its campaign for the re-election of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and President Bola Tinubu. The inauguration of SWAGA 2.0 in Ado Ekiti marks a significant push to consolidate support for the ruling party in the Southwest region, underscoring the political importance of the upcoming Ekiti governorship election.

Between now and June 20, our focus is clear. The governor’s re-election is certain. It is a done deal.

Led by national figures like Adedayo Adeyeye, the group has set an ambitious target of securing 500,000 votes for Governor Oyebanji in the June 20 governorship poll. This focus on the Ekiti election is strategically framed as a precursor to the presidential re-election campaign for President Tinubu, slated for January 2027. SWAGA leaders are emphasizing that Oyebanji's victory will serve as a vital stepping stone and a strong indicator of the party's strength in the region.

What we are working toward is the margin of victory. We have set a target of 500,000 votes, but I believe we can surpass that. The governor will win massively across all wards and polling units.
