Syarif Hidayatullah Foundation Denies Conflict with UIN Jakarta, Cites Management Issues

The Syarif Hidayatullah Foundation Jakarta has issued a statement clarifying that the current controversy is not a conflict with UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, but rather stems from internal issues related to leadership changes and alleged mismanagement of the foundation's funds and assets. Prof. Siti Nurul Azkiyah, Chair of the Foundation, stressed that Ilham Aufa was removed from the management in May 2026 and therefore lacks the authority to act on behalf of the foundation.

"There is no feud between UIN and the foundation. This is a matter of leadership change and alleged irregularities that are being processed according to the law," Nurul stated. The foundation's legal counsel, Alwanih, detailed that the alleged financial improprieties occurred between 2015 and 2026. These include accusations of abuse of power, self-enrichment, questionable expenditures, and the use of foundation funds for personal benefit.

Alwanih further indicated that the alleged misappropriation of funds could amount to tens of billions. The foundation also claims that some of its assets were allegedly pledged to banks without UIN Jakarta's approval. These allegations have been submitted to law enforcement agencies for investigation and proof.

The alleged governance issues have reportedly impacted the development of associated schools. Specifically, the tuition and initial fees for TKIP-SDIP Pamulang are noted to be approximately double those of Madrasah Pembangunan (MP). However, the foundation claims that improvements in facilities and teacher welfare have not been commensurate with the higher costs.
