Syed Saddiq Completes 170km Gratitude Run, Raising Funds for Community

Muar Member of Parliament Syed Saddiq Syed Abd Rahman has successfully completed his nearly 170-kilometer "Gratitude Run," arriving in Muar this morning after starting in Putrajaya last Thursday.

Thousands of local residents gathered at Laman Maharani to welcome Syed Saddiq, who began his final 17-kilometer stretch from Simpang Sungai Rambai more than two hours before his arrival. The run, which traversed Negeri Sembilan and Melaka, served as a symbolic expression of his gratitude following his acquittal on July 13 by the Federal Court on charges including criminal breach of trust, misuse of assets, and money laundering related to funds from Angkatan Bersatu Anak Muda (ARMADA) Bersatu.

Beyond personal gratitude, the run also carried a charitable mission. Funds collected are designated for providing food baskets to families in need and purchasing iPads to support students requiring access to learning devices. As of yesterday, the run had successfully raised RM361,848, significantly exceeding its initial fundraising goal of RM200,000.

The initiative highlights Syed Saddiq's commitment to his constituents and his desire to contribute positively following his legal battles. The successful completion of the run and the substantial funds raised demonstrate strong community support for both his cause and his personal journey.
