Taichung's Qingshui District to host "sending of the soul" ritual on August 8th

A traditional "sending of the soul" ritual, known locally as "song rou zong," is scheduled to be held on Aohai Road in Taichung's Qingshui District on the evening of August 8th. This ceremony, a local custom in the coastal areas of central Taiwan, is intended to guide spirits away. The ritual is slated to begin around 9 PM and conclude by 11 PM.

This event follows a similar ceremony that took place in Qingshui in May. The specific location for the upcoming ritual is on Aohai Road, outside the Qingshui Mountain Bicycle Field. Residents who typically use this route for travel between the Wu Cuo and Yang Cuo areas and the Qingshui urban center are being advised to plan for detours or adjust their travel times.

Local authorities and community members are taking precautions to ensure the ceremony proceeds smoothly and with minimal disruption to public traffic. The notice serves as a public advisory, urging those who need to travel through the area during the specified hours to exercise caution and seek alternative routes.
