Taiwan's indigenous voices are resonating on the international stage, with the Indigenous Cultural Television Foundation (ICFT) achieving remarkable success at the 59th Houston International Film Festival. The foundation secured an impressive 10 awards across diverse categories, including documentaries, dramas, and cultural programs, underscoring the profound depth and cultural richness of Taiwan's indigenous visual creations.

This significant achievement, reported by Liberty Times, highlights the exceptional quality of ICFT's productions. Notably, the series "The Mountain of Resistance 1896-1914 Taroko War of Resistance" and "The Shore of Wandering 1877 Cepo' War" from the "Centennial Indigenous Tragedy" series received Jury Special Awards in the mid-length documentary category, demonstrating a profound interpretation of historical events. Other works, such as "Misty" and "The Choice," also garnered Jury Special Awards in the mid-length original drama category, while "Turbid" clinched the Platinum Award, showcasing outstanding performance.

ICFT's strength in cultural and documentary narratives was further recognized with the Gold Award for "Returning to the Sea" in the cultural and historical program category, which delicately portrayed the deep connection between indigenous peoples and the ocean. "Pasatjumaqen i Taiwan," documenting the return of ancestral remains and the associated rituals of the Paiwan people, received a Silver Award, highlighting historical scars and cultural healing spanning over a century.
