Taiwanese pitcher Li Chen-hsun maintains perfect ERA with two scoreless innings in Class-A

Taiwanese fireballer Li Chen-hsun continues to impress in his recovery and ascent through the San Francisco Giants' minor league system. The pitcher, affectionately known as 'A-Yao,' delivered a solid performance on August 7, 2026, pitching two scoreless innings in relief during a game against the Athletics' Class-A team.

Li entered the game in the eighth inning with his team trailing significantly. He allowed one hit in that inning but managed to escape without any runs scoring. He continued his strong outing into the ninth, navigating a bases-loaded jam before securing the final out and leaving inherited runners stranded.

This latest appearance brings Li's season total in Class-A to 10 innings pitched across seven games. During this span, he has recorded nine strikeouts and, remarkably, has not allowed any earned runs, maintaining a perfect 0.00 ERA. He has conceded one unearned run over the course of his appearances.

Li Chen-hsun signed with the Giants in 2023 with a reported $800,000 signing bonus. After a challenging rookie season in the rookie league and subsequent injury setbacks that caused him to miss the entire 2024 and 2025 seasons, he began this year in the rookie league. He earned a promotion to Class-A in early July, and his recent performance indicates he is solidifying his place at this level.
