Tallinn Botanical Garden Blooms into Summer Season with New Facilities

Tallinn Botanical Garden is ushering in its summer season with a vibrant program designed to delight visitors of all ages. Starting May 1st, the garden will buzz with activity, offering guided tours, hands-on workshops, and the enchanting melodies of the early music ensemble Rondellus.

This year's opening is particularly special with the inauguration of a new parking lot and visitor center. This expansion promises to significantly enhance the visitor experience, addressing previous capacity issues during popular events. The new facilities provide direct access to the garden's entrance and the central hub, which now houses a ticket office, shop, and the Herba café.

Although spring begins in March, the richer plant world opens up in the garden from May. Then there are plenty of blooming bulbous plants, the alpine garden and perennial areas become more colorful, and it is possible to learn about Estonian native plants. In May, many shrubs are in a light blossom.

Visitors can look forward to exploring the rich diversity of plant life as it bursts into bloom. Botanist Tiia Jaanus highlights the abundance of bulbous flowers, the vibrant alpine garden, and perennial beds, alongside opportunities to learn about Estonia's native flora. The program includes a children's spring flower tour led by Krista Kaur, a floral arrangement workshop with Tiia Jaanus, and an open-air excursion with botanist Urmas Laansoo.

The garden's summer hours are from 10 AM to 7 PM daily, with the palm house open until 7 PM. Daily tickets are priced at 10 euros, with a reduced rate of 6 euros for concessions. This season promises a beautiful and accessible experience for everyone eager to connect with nature.

Although the new parking lot creates significantly better opportunities to visit the botanical garden than before, as the previous one was too small for more crowded events.
