Taoyuan expands student and teacher support, including free milk for junior high students and full subsidy for teacher lunches

Taoyuan City is enhancing its support for students and educators by expanding its free school lunch program and subsidizing teacher meals. Starting from the 2027 academic year, the city's free nutritious lunch subsidy will be extended to include all homeroom teachers and lunch secretaries, with the full cost covered by the municipal government. This initiative aims to improve the well-being of both students and the staff who support them. Furthermore, the "Every Student Drinks Fresh Milk" policy, which has been successful in kindergartens and elementary schools, will now be implemented in junior high schools as well. This expansion begins on August 31st, coinciding with the start of the new school year, ensuring that more students have access to nutritious milk. The city government announced these plans during a municipal meeting, highlighting its commitment to educational welfare.
