Teen moped rider injured in police cornering incident recovering well; both under investigation

According to the boy's mother, neither the rider nor the police officer involved knew each other prior to the incident. The rider is suspected of aggravated endangerment of traffic safety, a vehicle offense, and driving without a license. His moped, which lacked license plates, was reportedly modified to be classified as a motorcycle, requiring a motorcycle license. The police officer is under investigation for dereliction of duty, aggravated endangerment of traffic safety, and causing bodily harm. Moped riders plan to protest in Helsinki on Saturday, organized by the group Mopoilevat nuoret ry, aiming for a constructive solution to escalating tensions between moped enthusiasts and the police.
