Temperatures Up to 28°C Today, Then a Sudden Change: 'Thunderstorm Weather is Coming'

Croatia is set for a dramatic shift in weather this week, with a spell of warm, sunny conditions giving way to a significant change bringing thunderstorms and cooler temperatures. Residents can expect highs reaching up to 28°C on Saturday, offering a pleasant late spring day across much of the country.

However, this warmth is short-lived. Meteorologists are forecasting a transition to more unsettled weather starting Wednesday. This will bring variable conditions, characterized by cooler days and intermittent rain. Localized showers, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected, signaling the end of the current warm spell.

Specific forecasts indicate that Saturday will be predominantly sunny and warm, particularly in the continental regions. While the Adriatic coast will also enjoy sunshine, a moderate southerly and southwesterly wind is anticipated, with the sea being slightly to moderately choppy. Temperatures will range from 23°C on the islands to 25°C inland.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, cloud cover is expected to increase inland, with a possibility of rain in Gorski Kotar and parts of central Croatia. The instability will spread to the Adriatic coast, with rain potentially appearing first along the northern and central parts before moving south. By Wednesday, the southerly and southwesterly winds are expected to strengthen temporarily, and morning temperatures will be at their highest, while daytime temperatures remain largely unchanged. This forecast serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of spring weather in the region.
