The Architecture of Durability: How Families Build Wealth and Plan Succession

Family foundations are becoming an increasingly important pillar of Polish business, offering a way to protect assets, preserve wealth and approach succession more professionally.

Those issues will guide the panel “The Architecture of Durability: How Families Build Wealth and Plan Succession” at the 35th Economic Forum in Karpacz, held from September 8 to 10, 2026. The discussion will draw on conclusions from the “Family Business Barometer” report and focus on the practical management of capital over the long term.

The panel will examine which corporate governance mechanisms best support a consistent strategy. It will also consider how professionally managed succession can strengthen the credibility of Polish companies in the eyes of international financial institutions.

The organizers present family foundations as a possible safeguard against the fragmentation of assets during generational change. They may also help maintain business continuity and carry out the founders’ intergenerational vision during a period of economic uncertainty and regulatory change.

Bartosz Majewski, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, will moderate the discussion. Participants include Beata Krzyżagórska-Żurek of Krzyżagórska Łoboda i Partnerzy, Dr Irena Eris supervisory board chairman Henryk Orfinger, Aleksander Szymański of the National Council of Notaries and A&A Holding owner Adrian Majsterek. Family Business Network and SGH Warsaw School of Economics are partners of the panel.
