'The Guardian': American drone factory in Kyiv destroyed in Russian strike

A Russian missile strike has reportedly destroyed a drone manufacturing facility in Kyiv that was producing advanced, American-designed unmanned aerial vehicles. The facility, known as 'Terminal Autonomy,' specialized in high-precision drones equipped with artificial intelligence and systems designed to resist Russian electronic warfare jamming.

The drones were intended for deep strikes behind enemy lines. The company's name, 'Terminal Autonomy,' suggests a focus on AI-driven flight capabilities, particularly in the terminal phase of flight, where AI takes over control after communication or electronic warfare signals are blocked. The company was registered in Delaware, USA, in 2023.

According to a source familiar with the company's operations, no one was killed in the Russian attack. The report from The Guardian highlights the ongoing technological race in the conflict, with Ukraine seeking advanced weaponry to counter Russian aggression.

In separate incidents, Ukrainian drones reportedly targeted a Lukoil oil refinery and two Wildberries warehouses in Russia's Volgograd region on Friday, causing fires. Another Wildberries warehouse in Yelabuga, Tatarstan, also caught fire following a drone attack.
