Zelenskyy Discussed Patriot Missile Production in Ukraine with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that he discussed the possibility of licensing Patriot interceptor missile production within Ukraine during a meeting with Donald Trump. Zelenskyy stated on social media that they also explored "some other ideas that could help."

Kyiv currently possesses several Patriot systems capable of effectively intercepting ballistic missiles, but faces an acute shortage of these crucial munitions. While Trump had previously suggested that Ukraine could receive licenses for missile production, experts note that organizing such a process could be lengthy.

Beyond defense capabilities, Zelenskyy reported that he and Trump also conferred on resuming peace talks. This discussion comes at a time when diplomatic efforts to end the conflict have stalled. Previous trilateral negotiations involving Russia, Ukraine, and the U.S. were halted after the war in Iran began.
