Seventeen-year-old Jack Vokili, a teenager from Maniava Village in rural Ra, has become the heart of Ra High School's surprising journey to the 2026 Deans rugby competition semifinals. Vokili's rugby prowess, honed on the fields of his village and Tokaimalo District School, has propelled his team to an unexpected level of success.

Last week, Vokili scored the decisive try against the formidable Ratu Kadavulevu School, the defending champions. This crucial score eliminated one of the tournament's favorites and secured Ra High's spot in the semifinals, marking another major upset for a team that has consistently defied expectations. Their path to the semifinals included eliminating the top seed from the North before their victory over RKS.
