A sophisticated international drug trafficking ring has been dismantled, with Argentine authorities playing a crucial role in uncovering the operation. The scheme involved disguising cocaine shipments as legitimate parcels destined for the European headquarters of multinational corporations.

Customs personnel at Ezeiza International Airport flagged a suspicious export shipment, which initially declared its contents as sugar. A subsequent search revealed 11 kilograms of cocaine, meticulously packaged and marked with a scorpion symbol—a known indicator used by criminal organizations. The estimated value of this seizure alone exceeded $165,000.

Following the discovery, an international collaboration was initiated. Under the guidance of Judge Marcelo Aguinsky and with the cooperation of French authorities, a controlled delivery was arranged. This allowed investigators to track the illicit cargo and identify the intended recipients. The operation's success was further bolstered by the detection and seizure of an additional 12 kilograms of cocaine hidden within an air compressor in a subsequent shipment.
