Two people were killed and the suspected shooter also died after a shooting at a downtown Minneapolis apartment building, police said. Three Minneapolis police officers were injured, including two who suffered gunshot wounds.

Police responded shortly after 4:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday and urged the public to stay away from the area. One victim died at the scene, while the other died after being taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. Seven patients were transported to Hennepin Healthcare Medical Center, according to the hospital. All three injured officers were in stable condition, a hospital spokesperson said.
