Three Dead, One Injured in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Crash – FRSC

Tragedy struck on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday, as a devastating accident claimed the lives of three individuals and left another injured. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the fatal collision, which involved a Lexus Jeep and a Boxer bike near the Oniworo area. This incident serves as a grim reminder of the persistent dangers faced by motorists on one of Nigeria's critical transport arteries.

The corpses of the victims have been taken to FOS morgue, Opara, while the survivors were taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, for treatment.

According to the FRSC Ogun Command, the crash occurred around 1:04 p.m. and involved eight male adults. The preliminary investigation points to excessive speeding and a tyre burst as the likely causes. The victims' bodies were taken to the FOS morgue in Opara, while the survivor was rushed to Victory Hospital in Ogere for medical attention. The FRSC has since cleared the obstruction to restore traffic flow and has moved the vehicles to the MTD Alapako Police station for further investigation.
