Three injured in car crash with water truck at Kyrgyzstan road repair site

A serious road accident occurred on the Kant-Internatsional highway in Kyrgyzstan, resulting in three individuals sustaining severe injuries. The collision involved a passenger car and a KamAZ water truck on a section of the road undergoing repair work.

According to witnesses, the accident happened during the dark hours of the night. They pointed to inadequate lighting at the site and a lack of necessary reflective elements on the road construction equipment as contributing factors. The witnesses asserted that these deficiencies made the area particularly hazardous.

Following the incident, local residents have called upon the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Road Maintenance Enterprise (RME), and other responsible road services. They are demanding an inspection into how safely traffic is being managed at the repair site, specifically questioning the adequacy of warning signs, barriers, lighting, and the marking of construction vehicles.

The Main Department of the Patrol Police of the Chuy Region officially reported that the accident took place around 02:10 on August 26. The driver of a Subaru Outback collided with a KamAZ truck that was blocking the passage due to road work. The injured parties, including the 2004-born driver and two passengers (born in 2004 and 2003), sought medical attention at the Kant city hospital. The details surrounding the cause of the crash are currently under investigation.
