Unaa offices in Bishkek to be closed on August 31 and September 1

All branches of Kyrgyzstan's State Center for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers, known as Unaa, will be closed on August 31 in observance of Independence Day. While regional branches are set to resume normal operations on September 1, four specific offices in the capital, Bishkek, will continue to be temporarily closed. This extended closure in Bishkek is due to events associated with the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.

The Unaa offices in Bishkek that will remain closed include the Alamedin office, the Birimdik office, the Vostochny office, and the City office located at the Ayu Grand shopping center. In contrast, the Interregional Office situated at the RIOM car market in Kozhomkul village, Chui region, will operate as usual during this period.

Unaa is reminding the public that September 1 marks the final deadline for the legalization of vehicles bearing foreign license plates. After this date, the program will no longer accept vehicles for legalization. For those seeking to legalize their vehicles, opportunities will be available on August 29 and 30 at the Birimdik-24 office and the Interregional Office at the RIOM car market in Bishkek.

The closure of several key Unaa offices in Bishkek highlights the significant logistical and security measures being implemented for the SCO summit. The event is expected to draw leaders and delegations from member states, necessitating disruptions to normal public services in the capital.
