Three Murdered, Child's Body Recovered in Separate Incidents

Tragic incidents have shaken Bangladesh as three people were murdered in separate events spanning Habiganj, Gazipur, and Rangpur. In Gazipur, a 70-year-old man, Majid Morol, was allegedly hacked to death by his son-in-law, Mozammel Hossain, at his banana shop.

Majid was allegedly attacked by Mozammel.

Majid's son, Md Liton Morol, reported that Mozammel had a history of assaulting and harassing his sister. Mozammel allegedly attacked Majid with locally made weapons. Although locals rescued Majid and took him to a hospital, he was declared dead. Liton filed a murder case against Mozammel, who later surrendered to the police and confessed to the killing. He is currently in custody.

In Habiganj, Sayed Mia, 40, was attacked and killed with sharp weapons while returning home from his poultry farm. Police are investigating the incident and working to identify those involved, but no case had been filed at the time of reporting.

Mozammel had physically assaulted and harassed his sister on several occasions.

Meanwhile, in Rangpur, the throat-slit body of auto-rickshaw driver Mokhlesur Rahman, 55, was discovered. Police suspect he was killed and his vehicle stolen. The body was sent for an autopsy, and the family had not yet filed a complaint.

Police suspect miscreants killed him and stole his vehicle between 8:00pm and 10:00pm.

Adding to the grim news from Gazipur, the body of five-year-old Zahid Hasan was recovered from the Brahmaputra river. The child had been missing since August 27. While there were no visible injury marks, the family requested that the body not be sent for an autopsy.

At around 8:00am today, local residents spotted the body floating in the Brahmaputra river near the child’s home and informed the police station.
