Three students die in Chiapas traffic accident after car hits trailer

Three young students from the Rosario Castellanos University's Comitán campus died early Sunday morning in a tragic traffic accident. Their Volkswagen Jetta collided with a trailer at the intersection of the Panamericana highway and Vía 226, known locally as La Angostura.

Ángel Jared Galindo Osorio, José Andrés Hernández Esquinca, and Luis Osvaldo Aguilar Gómez were identified as the students who lost their lives at the scene. Two other individuals in the car sustained injuries and were transported to the Regional Hospital for treatment. The students were studying Law and Criminalistics at the university campus, located just kilometers from the accident site.

The Rosario Castellanos University's Comitán unit issued a statement expressing condolences to the families and friends of Ángel Jared, José Andrés, and Luis Osvaldo. Luis Osvaldo was also noted as a member of the altruistic civil organization Latidos Comitán.

Authorities have not yet released information regarding the trailer driver or the circumstances of the maneuver that led to the collision. In a separate incident in Comitán, a 17-year-old, Julio Alexander Guillén Cruz, also died in a vehicle accident while driving a Volkswagen Vento near the Tecnológico Nacional campus.
