Three West Java police officers to face disciplinary hearing for running red light

Three police officers from the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) are set to face a disciplinary hearing following a viral incident where their Toyota Alphard allegedly ran a red light in Bundaran HI, Central Jakarta.

The examination has been carried out by the Professional and Security Division of the West Java Police on our three members. Sufficient evidence has been found to have committed violations of the Police Professional Code of Ethics as stipulated in Government Regulation No. 7 of 2022.

According to West Java Police Public Relations Head, Commissioner Besar Hendra Rochmawan, the Professional and Security Division (Propam) of Polda Jabar has examined the three personnel. Sufficient evidence was found to indicate violations of the Police Professional Code of Ethics, as stipulated in Government Regulation (Perpol) Number 7 of 2022.

The results will be followed up through the code of ethics process and the Police Professional Code of Ethics Commission trial.

The findings from the examination will proceed to a Police Professional Code of Ethics Commission trial. This trial will determine the appropriate sanctions for the officers involved. Hendra Rochmawan stated that the West Java Police are committed to taking firm and transparent action against any misconduct by their personnel, ensuring accountability to the public.

We convey our apologies to the security guard at Bundaran HI for the arrogant and inappropriate behavior by three members of the West Java Police.

In addition to the disciplinary proceedings, Hendra also offered an apology to the security guard who was involved in an argument with the three officers during the incident. He acknowledged the officers' arrogant and inappropriate behavior. Despite a reconciliation between the parties involved, the disciplinary and code of ethics process will continue, as the settlement does not nullify the sanctions against the officers, identified as Ipda DG, Bripka BS, and Briptu RPW.
