TikToker Jailed in Bangladesh for Harassing Russian Nationals

In a disturbing incident that has sparked national outrage, a TikToker from Rajshahi, Bangladesh, has been sent to jail for harassing two Russian nationals. The incident, which took place at Green Valley Park in Natore's Lalpur upazila, involved a group of self-proclaimed TikTokers who ambushed the foreigners for the purpose of creating viral content.

The victims, who were working at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, were subjected to verbal abuse and obscene language. The harassment was captured on video, and its subsequent virality on social media platforms has drawn widespread condemnation from the public. According to police, the incident took place around 3:00pm on Friday when two Russian nationals working at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant visited Green Valley Park.

Following the incident, the Green Valley Park Manager filed a case against an unidentified group of individuals. Police have detained Aminul Islam, 29, and another person, Russel Islam, 23, who is under observation. The swift action by the police, as reported by The Daily Star, aims to address the public outcry and ensure accountability.

This incident is particularly concerning given Bangladesh's ongoing cooperation with Russia on significant projects like the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.
