Tinubu appoints Fayose as REA chair, Bindawa heads National Salaries Commission

President Bola Tinubu has initiated a significant reshuffling of leadership within federal government agencies, announcing 26 new appointments across 10 key bodies. The appointments aim to bring new management and direction to various sectors of the Nigerian government.

Among the notable appointments is Ayo Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, who will now chair the board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA). This move places a former state executive in a crucial role overseeing the agency responsible for expanding electricity access.

Furthermore, Major General Junaid Bindawa (rtd) has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission. This commission plays a vital role in determining and regulating remuneration across public service.

The appointments also include new CEOs and board members for agencies such as the National Population Commission, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET), Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), and the Fiscal Responsibility Commission. These changes signal a broader administrative overhaul by the Tinubu administration.
