Tinubu inaugurates Ansar-Ud-Deen Society's new national headquarters, lauds impact

President Bola Tinubu on Saturday commissioned the Hassanat Abebi Okunnu House, the new National Headquarters of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, in Lagos. Represented by Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi, Tinubu lauded the society's over a century of service, stating that government alone cannot build the nation.

The government alone cannot build the nation of our dreams. We require strong partnerships with private institutions that share the vision of building an enlightened, disciplined, compassionate, and prosperous society.

He emphasized that the society's commitment to community development, particularly in education and healthcare, demonstrates the importance of laying a solid foundation. "The Ansar-Ud-Deen society has made invaluable contributions to national development," Tinubu stated, recognizing their early understanding of education as a catalyst for progress.

The president urged other faith-based institutions and the private sector to support nation-building efforts. "We require strong partnerships with private institutions that share the vision of building an enlightened, disciplined, compassionate, and prosperous society," he said. Tinubu also pledged the government's commitment to guaranteeing freedom of religion while encouraging the society to continue preaching religious tolerance.

The Ansar-Ud-Deen society has made invaluable contributions to national development.

Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, also present at the event, stressed the need for religious societies like Ansar-Ud-Deen to promote enduring values. He noted that with eroding societal values, the nation's future depends on families and religious institutions.

I also wish to express my deep appreciation to the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria for more than one hundred years of dedicated service in education, healthcare, humanitarian intervention, and numerous other programmes that have positively impacted society.
