Tinubu praised as four PAP scholars achieve distinctions in UK master's degrees

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, lauded President Bola Tinubu for bolstering the program's scholarship initiative. Otuaro announced that four PAP beneficiaries achieved distinctions in their master's degree studies at UK universities, with an additional 12 completing their postgraduate programs.

These 16 students pursued master's degrees in diverse fields such as financial management, international hospitality and tourism, law, construction engineering management, software engineering, oil and gas, data science, and global public health. They graduated from prestigious institutions including Carnegie Mellon University, Coventry University, Manchester Metropolitan University, the University of Dundee, Aston University, and the University of Cambridge, among others.

Since Dr. Otuaro assumed office in March 2024, the PAP has facilitated the academic success of 111 master's and doctoral degree holders. Of these, 57 completed their studies at foreign universities, while 54 earned their degrees from Nigerian institutions. Otuaro emphasized that these accomplishments underscore the Federal Government's commitment to education and human capital development in the Niger Delta region, aligning with the 'Renewed Hope Agenda'.

Otuaro further stated that the expanded scholarship scheme is driven by President Tinubu's dedication to bridging the human capital gap in the region. He credited the program's investments in education for fostering sustainable peace and socio-economic progress. Appreciation was also extended to the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for his support. The PAP's increased budget has enabled approximately 9,000 undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships within Nigeria and 247 scholarships for higher degrees abroad.
