Tinubu’s reforms will secure Nigeria’s future – Akume

The reforms initiated by President Bola Tinubu are laying a robust foundation for Nigeria's long-term prosperity and securing its future, according to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume. Represented by his Senior Assistant, Prof. Babatunde Bolaji Benard, Akume stated that while some administration policies might not show immediate results, they are essential for repositioning the country toward sustainable growth.

Benard likened the ongoing reforms to the patient process of cooking beans, emphasizing that the eventual outcome will be rewarding. He pointed to the Student Loan Scheme and ongoing infrastructure projects, such as the Calabar-Abuja and Sokoto-Badagry highways, as evidence of the administration's commitment to economic development and improved national connectivity.

At the same event, a coalition of youths known as the North Central Agenda endorsed President Tinubu for re-election in 2027, declaring his victory a "done deal." The group's Convener, Dr. Ene Ogbole, highlighted significant improvements in infrastructure, education, agriculture, and security within the North-Central region under Tinubu's administration since May 29, 2023.

Consequently, we are pledging to mobilise massively like never before across the entire North Central states to support the re-election of the President that has brought us from doom to the dawn of a new era.

Ogbole cited specific projects like the Calabar–Ebonyi–Benue–Kogi–Nasarawa–Abuja Super Highway, the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway, and various dual carriageway projects as testaments to the administration's commitment. She also praised educational initiatives, including those from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, alongside security measures that have allowed farmers to return to their land. The coalition pledged to mobilize extensively across North-Central states to support Tinubu's re-election bid.
