Tinubu vows crackdown on ‘troublemakers’ behind Plateau killings

President Bola Tinubu has issued a stern warning to those perpetuating violence in Plateau State, vowing to deploy the full force of the Federal Government against them. Speaking at a high-level meeting with state stakeholders, including Governor Caleb Mutfwang and former governors, Tinubu emphasized that perpetrators and financiers of the violence would face decisive action once identified.

In a significant move, Tinubu endorsed a newly formed peace committee comprising former governors, tasking them with reviewing past conflict resolutions and presenting consolidated recommendations. He urged them to work cohesively, even suggesting they incorporate or bypass existing committees if necessary, to find a lasting solution. This initiative underscores the President's commitment to a comprehensive and inclusive approach to peacebuilding in Plateau.

The President also called for greater inclusion of non-indigenes in Plateau's governance structures to foster confidence and reduce discrimination, signaling a broader strategy for reconciliation and stability in the region.
