The woman, of Bengali origin, allegedly drugged her 41-year-old husband and then castrated him with a knife after discovering his infidelity.

According to reports from the Italian press, citing sources close to the investigation, the couple, both of Bengali nationality and long-term residents in Italy, had been experiencing marital tensions. These tensions reportedly culminated in the wife's extreme reaction upon learning of her husband's affair. The alleged attack occurred after she administered drugs in his food during a meal, rendering him unconscious before carrying out the horrific act.

The victim reportedly regained consciousness due to intense pain and, despite his critical condition, managed to escape his home to seek assistance from neighbors. These neighbors promptly alerted emergency services, leading to the swift arrival of medical and police teams.

The alleged assailant has been arrested by the Carabinieri and is being held in a detention facility in Salerno. The victim was rushed to the Spitalul Umberto I for urgent medical attention.
