Tokayev awarded the President of the International Basketball Federation

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev hosted Sheikh Saud Ali Al Thani, President of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), at the Palace of Independence. During the discussion, President Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan's basketball celebrates its centenary this year. He noted the sport's enduring popularity and its increasing appeal among children and young people. The Kazakh leader also pointed to the nation's history of producing talented basketball players who have competed successfully on international stages, including World Championships and the Olympic Games. Tokayev also informed Al Thani about the growing interest in the fast-paced 3x3 basketball format within Kazakhstan.
