During the premiere of the Sony Pictures production in Los Angeles, Holland elaborated on the film's central narrative. He explained that 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' explores the experience of relocating to a new city and the accompanying feelings of isolation. The actor noted a specific theme: "This idea of moving to a new city and feeling like you’re all alone, and sometimes neglecting the fact that the best thing that ever happened to you is standing right next to you."

Holland expressed his enthusiasm for conveying such a relatable story on a large scale, acknowledging the significant responsibility that director Destin Daniel Cretton carries in weaving this theme throughout the movie. The film's script is penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The ensemble cast includes Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo.
