Top Counter-Terrorism Official Files Complaint Over Threatening Calls, Messages

A high-ranking counter-terrorism police official in Chattogram, Bangladesh, has filed a general diary (GD) after allegedly receiving threatening phone calls and WhatsApp messages from an unknown number. Mohammad Badiuzzaman, the acting deputy commissioner of the Counter Terrorism Division of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), reported the threats on Saturday night.

Badiuzzaman stated he is concerned for his personal safety and that of his family. The Panchlaish Police Station has confirmed the GD filing and is actively investigating the matter. Officer-in-Charge Jahidul Islam told The Daily Star that the police are working to identify the individual or individuals behind the threatening communications.

The investigation aims to uncover the source of the calls and messages and determine the motive behind the threats. The incident highlights potential security concerns for law enforcement officials involved in sensitive counter-terrorism operations.
