Total loss reported after fire engulfs mango packing plant in Chahuites, Oaxaca; causes unknown

A devastating fire has completely destroyed a mango packing plant in Chahuites, Oaxaca, located in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec region. The incident, which occurred yesterday, resulted in the total loss of the facility's equipment, including conveyor belts, office and administrative supplies, and stored cardboard intended for the next season.

The packing plant, named "San Got" and owned by Narciso de los Santos Gotó, had recently finished collecting mangoes for the season in June. Neighbors and Civil Protection authorities worked together to combat the blaze, which generated flames reaching up to 15 meters high. The fire caused significant alarm due to its proximity to a five-thousand-liter gas tank supplying the plant.

Firefighters worked to cool the gas tank during the incident to prevent a potential explosion. Fortunately, the tank was successfully cooled, averting a more catastrophic outcome. The exact cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are underway to determine how the blaze started.
