Tour de France experience for amateurs comes to Paraguay's Encarnación

Encarnación, Paraguay, is set to host the L'Étape Encarnación by Tour de France 2026, an international amateur cycling competition offering an official Tour de France experience. The event, scheduled for May 31, marks Paraguay's entry into a prestigious global sporting circuit.

Organizers anticipate a strong turnout of cyclists from across the region, including Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and Chile, alongside a significant number of Paraguayan athletes. The competition will feature three distances: a long course of 141 km, a medium course of 61.5 km, and a short course of 30 km, catering to various skill levels.

The chosen route in Encarnación leverages the city's geography, infrastructure, and urban appeal, with its coastline and tourist capacity making it an ideal venue. The event is expected to provide a positive impact on local tourism, services, commerce, and international visibility.

This marks a significant year for Paraguay in the L'Étape Series, with L'Étape San Bernardino by Tour de France also scheduled for September 13, 2026.
