Traffic temporarily closed at Dzirnavu and Skolas street intersection in Riga

Traffic will be temporarily suspended at the intersection of Dzirnavu and Skolas streets in Riga as part of ongoing renovation works. The closure will completely halt vehicle traffic, while pedestrian access will be limited and redirected along temporary paths.

The traffic management plan involves closing the section of Dzirnavu Street adjacent to the intersection in both directions. Traffic will be rerouted to surrounding streets to maintain flow. Additionally, the traffic organization on several nearby street sections will be altered to accommodate two-way traffic within the construction zone.

Two-way traffic will be implemented on Skolas Street from Dzirnavu to Elizabetes Street, and from Lāčplēša to Dzirnavu Street. Dzirnavu Street will also feature two-way traffic from Skolas to Krišjāņa Valdemāra Street.

Given that the work is being conducted in Riga's historic center, an area with heavy daily traffic of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, residents are urged to plan their travel routes in advance. The intersection is being improved as part of the Dzirnavu Street repair project.
