Tram Traffic Halted Overnight in Daugavpils for Track Repairs

Daugavpils residents should be aware that tram services will be temporarily halted overnight as essential track repairs continue at the intersection of 18. novembra and Valkas streets. SIA "Daugavpils satiksme" announced that the disruption will occur from Wednesday 10:40 PM until Thursday 5:00 AM.

This suspension will affect several early morning and late-night services on tram route Nr. 1, which are the only ones operating during these hours. Specifically, departures from "Butļerova iela" at 10:05 PM, 10:35 PM, 11:10 PM, and the early morning services at 12:05 AM and 4:20 AM are canceled. Similarly, departures from "Stacija" at 10:32 PM, 11:02 PM, 11:35 PM, and the early morning services at 12:27 AM and 4:40 AM will not run.

While this may cause inconvenience for some commuters, it is part of the necessary infrastructure upgrades to improve the city's public transport system. The company's financial performance, with a turnover of 7.5 million euros and a profit of 194,766 euros in 2024, indicates a stable operation that can support these essential maintenance projects.
