Trinidense and Olimpia meet in a highly anticipated Clausura clash

Sportivo Trinidense and Olimpia will face off Sunday morning at Asunción’s Defensores del Chaco Stadium in a match between two teams near the top of Paraguay’s Clausura table.

The game is scheduled for 10 a.m. and forms part of the tournament’s ninth round. Trinidense sits on 14 points after four wins, two draws and two defeats. The team arrives after a commanding 3-0 victory over Sportivo Ameliano.

Olimpia has 13 points from four wins, one draw and three losses. The club is seeking a return to winning form after a tense 1-1 draw with Guaraní. As the reigning Apertura champion, Olimpia needs three points to maintain its title defense, the report said.

Olimpia coach Pablo Vitamina Sánchez named Gastón Olveira; Tim Payne, Bryan Bentaberry, Mateo Gamarra and Alan Rodríguez; Rodney Redes, Fernando Cardozo, Richard Ortiz and Bernardo Romeo Benítez; Eduardo Delmás and Gabriel Ávalos in his starting lineup.

Sportivo Trinidense coach José Gabriel Arrúa selected Matías Dufour; Axel Cañete, Agustín da Silveira, Hermes David Villalba and Sergio Mendoza; Nicolás Maná, Nelson Ariel Gauto, Gustavo Viera and Alan Tobías Morínigo; Óscar Giménez and Clementino González.
