Truck Driver Fined 180,000 Lira for Road Rage Attack in Istanbul

In Istanbul, a viral video captured a shocking act of road rage that led to significant consequences for the perpetrator. A truck driver, identified as T.T., was seen aggressively following and then attacking another vehicle after a traffic dispute in Kartal. The incident, shared widely on social media, prompted an immediate investigation by the Istanbul Police Department's Virtual Patrol unit.

Authorities swiftly identified and apprehended the truck driver. In a decisive move, T.T. was slapped with a hefty administrative fine of 180,000 Turkish lira, in accordance with the Highway Traffic Law. Furthermore, the vehicle used in the assault and the driver's license were both suspended for a period of 60 days. This firm action underscores the authorities' commitment to maintaining order on the roads and deterring such aggressive behavior.

The driver was also taken to a police station for legal proceedings, signaling that the consequences extend beyond the immediate fines and suspensions.
