Trump and Netanyahu meet at White House amid Iran tensions

U.S. President Donald Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Tuesday for their eighth meeting since Trump assumed office. The high-level discussion marked the first encounter between the two leaders since joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes targeted Iran in February.

The meeting, which commenced shortly after Netanyahu's arrival in the United States on Monday, was conducted behind closed doors. Notably, there was no joint press conference or question-and-answer session with journalists, a departure from typical high-profile diplomatic engagements.

According to Israeli media reports, the closed-door session lasted approximately one hour and twenty minutes. However, specific details regarding the content of their discussions or any outcomes reached were not disclosed. Israeli Channel 13 reported that the meeting occurred in a plenary format, involving both delegations, and notably lacked a one-on-one session between Trump and Netanyahu, which is common for significant meetings.

Photographs released by the Israeli Prime Minister's office showed that in addition to Trump and Netanyahu, several senior U.S. officials were present. These included Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
