Trump names White House personal secretary as new assistant and legal counsel

President Donald Trump has appointed Will Scharf, his current White House Personal Secretary, to the role of personal assistant and legal counsel, effective September 1. Scharf will take over from David Warrington, who is departing the White House for the private sector after serving in Trump's presidential campaign.

In his current capacity, Scharf manages the flow of documents to the Oval Office. His previous experience includes serving on Trump's legal team for his Supreme Court immunity case and other significant legal matters. Before joining the White House, Scharf also worked as a federal prosecutor and in private practice.

At 40 years old, Scharf's appointment signifies a shift in the President's personal staff, bringing in an individual with a background in both legal and administrative White House functions.
