Former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly unleashed a torrent of expletives at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a recent phone call, criticizing his handling of the escalating conflict in Lebanon. Two U.S. officials and a third source familiar with the conversation described Trump as "angry" and shouting at Netanyahu during the call.

According to reports, Trump called Netanyahu "fucking crazy" and accused him of ingratitude. He allegedly told the Israeli prime minister, "You'd be in jail if it weren't for me. I'm saving you. Everyone hates you right now. Everyone hates Israel because of this."

Trump's anger was reportedly fueled by concerns that Netanyahu's escalation in Lebanon threatened to derail sensitive negotiations with Iran. The former president also expressed worry about the high number of civilian casualties in Lebanon and objected to Israel's tactics of destroying buildings to eliminate Hezbollah commanders.

Despite past tensions, Trump and Netanyahu have maintained close coordination on issues like Iran. However, this call was described by one official as one of Trump's "worst calls" with Netanyahu since Trump returned to office. Following the call, Netanyahu issued a statement asserting Israel's right to strike Beirut targets if Hezbollah did not cease attacks, while continuing operations in southern Lebanon.
