TS-LKD to form a shadow government after elections

Lithuania’s opposition TS-LKD party plans to form and publish a shadow government after next year’s municipal elections, party leader Laurynas Kasčiūnas announced.

The proposed team would include party politicians responsible for different areas of government, along with specialists in their respective fields. They would prepare alternative solutions and present the party’s positions.

Kasčiūnas said the opposition’s role should extend beyond criticizing those in power. It should show how it would address the country’s problems and prepare to govern.
