TSMC's US supply chain cluster gradually forming, says Taiwan minister

Taiwan's economic minister, Kung Ming-hsin, addressed concerns regarding TSMC's expansion in the United States, reassuring the public that the semiconductor giant's new fabrication plants are on track.

During a visit to Arizona, Minister Kung met with TSMC representatives and confirmed that the first plant is already profitable, with construction of the second, third, and fourth plants underway. This progress underscores Taiwan's commitment to supporting its key industries as they globalize.

The minister highlighted the nascent but growing supply chain ecosystem in Arizona, mentioning the presence of chemical material suppliers like Chang Chun Group and Eternal Chemical within a 1.5-hour drive of the TSMC facility. This development is crucial for ensuring the long-term viability and efficiency of TSMC's US operations.
