Turkey brings forest fires in Alanya, Dilovası, Marmara Island under control

Turkey's Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı has reported significant progress in combating recent forest fires across the country. In a social media update, Yumaklı confirmed that fires which erupted today in Alanya (Antalya province), Dilovası (Kocaeli province), and on Marmara Island (Balıkesir province) have been brought under full control.

Additionally, a fire in Buca, Izmir province, is reported to be largely contained. However, efforts are ongoing to achieve full control over fires that began yesterday in Çine (Aydın province) and Susurluk (Balıkesir province). Firefighting teams, including forest service personnel and air and ground crews, are working continuously.

Yumaklı also issued a public appeal, emphasizing the shared responsibility for protecting the "Green Homeland." He urged citizens to refrain from open-air fires and any activities that could spark a blaze. The public is advised to immediately report any sighting of smoke or flames to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
