Turkey to start accepting applications Sept. 1, 2026 for those injured in counter-terrorism but not disabled

Turkey is set to open applications on September 1, 2026, for individuals who sustained injuries during counter-terrorism efforts but were not classified as disabled. Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced the upcoming process, emphasizing the government's commitment to supporting those who have made sacrifices for the nation.

The new regulation, recently enacted by the Grand National Assembly, extends eligibility to various personnel, including military members from the Turkish Armed Forces, Gendarmerie General Command, and Coast Guard, as well as National Intelligence Organization staff, police officers, and security guards. Applications will be submitted through the e-Devlet digital portal, with specific instructions available by searching for the relevant law.

Minister Göktaş highlighted that applications must be made to the institutions the individuals were affiliated with at the time of the incident. She affirmed the government's ongoing dedication to standing by these heroes and addressing their needs, stating, "We will continue to stand by our heroes who have made sacrifices for our homeland and to find solutions for their needs."
